What Causes Difficulty In Conceiving While Sexually Active?
Question: Hi Dr,
My partner and myself have been together for 5 years. We have always practiced safe sex. We have in the past 6 months begun to try for a baby however we are trying "the not trying way" to eliminate extra pressure on both of us.
we have intercourse 1-2 times a week but weve had no success just yet . I am 24 years old i weigh 53 kg and am 163 cm tall i am not on any regular medications i do smoke approximately 5 cigarettes a day maximum on a bad day but i am currently in the process of gradually stopping.
Im worried i may have something underlying that may be preventing me to conceive naturally or maybe there is just something more we could be doing ? We both do have high pressure jobs so i am unsure whether this may also be impacting the outcome at the moment .
A friend has recommended folic acid vitamins / supplement called Elevit contains 800mcg per tablet but to be honest i have no idea where to start with this stuff so i would really appreciate some guidance .

See XXXXXXX , in the menstrual cycle of a woman there will be few days which are considered as fertile period.
These days are from 11th day of menstrual cycle to 16th day of menstrual cycle. During the fertile period there occurs release of egg from the female body. If you have sex during this fertile period only then a female can become pregnant.
So having sex twice a day will be of no use if you don't have it in the fertile period. Hence my advise is to have sex during your fertile period.
Inspite of having sex during fertile period if you don't conceive then you need to undergo certain tests which I shall advise you later if necessity comes.
