What Causes Diarrhea, Headaches And Increased Blood Pressure?

default
Posted on Fri, 3 Feb 2017
Question: Been getting different symtoms often at work and been hauled to ER about 4x from work in the last year. Symptoms include diarrhea, head pains, spiking pulse and BP, but no nausea ever. In ER they ran blood work, echocardiogram, chest x rays, CT scan on stomach and intestines with iodine and all were negative. My friend thought I may need to try detox methods which seemed to have helped a lot. My stools are mostly solid now with some exceptions. I've been having a moderate to severe burning pain in my upper abdomen right under middle of sternum. It's a round piece that's not tender, but rock hard and not sure if it's an abnormal lump, a bone, or piece of muscle? The burning happens at any time whether I ate food or not and comes and goes. None of my other friends have this hard lump. I get random pains through my chest as well and pulse and BP is still up at times even at rest. Only high numbers I've had are T3 is 36 but Tsh and t4 are normal. And my eosinophils were 592 with top spec of 500. I've lost 15lbs in 2 weeks. Thyroid issues run in my family, but thinking possible chemical exposure at work too? I'm a top athlete and 39 years old.

Brief Answer:
You should be investigated.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description, the symptoms could be due to Elevated Thyroid hormone (T3) levels.Once you get latest Thyroid hormone levels, you should consult an Endocrinologist and get appropriate prescription.
Please send a Picture showing the hard lump.If the lump is present in the upper abdomen below the sternum,it could be Epigastric hernia or Lipoma.Ultrasound abdomen will confirm the diagnosis.
Burning pain is due to Acid reflux. I prescribe Tablet containing Rabeprazole 20mg twice daily half an hour before food to my patients with similar complaints.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions, I will clarify further.
Wish you good health.
Regards

Hi,

The lump is not visible through my skin at all. It's firm and in place with no tenderness right in the exact center under sternum. Can some people have a bone there in that spot and be part of my rib cage? Since I wrote the above email earlier I get returning sharp pains under the bottom portion of both ribs and still the same burning near the center upper abdomen
