Question: I missed my period Oct 6 my last period was Sept 10 i had the essure prcodure done Oct 18, 2011. My Urine is dark yellow almost orange. I have gained 7lbs in 2 weeks also. Ive had no problems but now i havent had my period yet and i took a pregnancy test came back negative.. I dont know if i should be worried or not.

Essure is a non hormonal permanent contraceptive which is 99 per cent safe and effective, so the pregnancy test being negative is true and you are not pregnant for sure. The deal is likely to be due to possible stress induced hormonal imbalances during this cycle and it is advised that you should ideally wait for at least 15 days post missed periods to allow menses to resume naturally and if they don't then you may opt for a withdrawal bleed with progestins.
