What Causes Coughing Up Of Thick Greenish Phlegm?

Question: In the mornings i wheeze up from, what feels like the inside of my airway at the base of my neck, very thick globs of phlem. The color is a very, very dark green. Once coughed up, often times the globs don't come high enough thus in my mouth to spit out. Therefore it is swallowed. What could be the cause? I dont smoke tobacco though do have my 4/20 card.

1. Since how many days you are having these symptoms?
2. Are you working? If yes, then where?
3. Do you have fever or chest pain?
4. What is the meaning of 4/20 cards?
In my opinion you should consult pulmonologist and get done
1. Chest x ray
2. PFT ( Pulmonary Function Test ).
We need to rule out lower respiratory tract infection ( LRTI ) and bronchitis in your case.
So chest x ray is needed to rule out LRTI.
And PFT is must to diagnose bronchitis.
So reply me the answers of above questions, so that I can guide you properly.
