Brief Answer:
If this is the very first time, Yes visit the ER!

Detailed Answer:
HI and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about these fluttering sensation in your chest and this cough that you have reported. Fluttering feeling in the chest is commonly described by clients who have heart rhythm abnormality. Heart rhythm abnormalities may represent a benign or a more concerning medical condition that needs immediate attention to avoid complications. If these symptoms have been evaluated before and shown to be caused by non concerning heart arrhythmia, then you can wait until you see your doctor. However, if this is not the case, it would be best to visit the hospital right away to get this abnormal feeling fully investigated and addressed. This would probably require a complete clinical exam and a basic ECG. Depending on these preliminary findings, further investigations and management plan would be established and followed through.

In all, if this is the first time you are having these feeling and symptoms, Please visit the hospital. If you have been evaluated for this and shown not to be worrisome, bother not and wait until you see your doctor.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thank you so much for using our services and do feel free to ask for more information and clarification if need be.
