Question: Hi my husband has had a cough for 2 weeks and at times said it feels like he has difficulty breathing has been on antibotics, ventolin and steroids. His condition has not improved and we have been going to local gp but just tell him to keep regularly with his ventolin puffer he has no temp and his antibiotics have finished any ideas

After reading your post, I would like that your husband can add an antihistamine like Fexofenadine 120 mg once a day along with his medication.
Montelukast 10 mg at evening will have added benefits.
He should also take an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg once a day before meals along with Domperidone 30mg.

Following investigations may be helpful :-
1. Chest auscultation.
2. Chest X - Ray PA view.
3. Absolute Eosinophil Count.
4. Throat swab culture.

Warm saline gargles and steam inhalation is also beneficial.

Antibiotic should be taken if investigations reveal infection.
