Brief Answer:
Seems like Nerve compression.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P
Thanks for choosing healthcaremagic.

Since how long you are having this problem?
Is there any neck pain?
Does this cold sensation increases or decreases while working from left hand?
Is there any weakness in your arm ?

I need these information to tell you what possibly might have happened. My probable diagnosis are

1. Cervical Radiculopathy : Compression of nerve supplying sensation to left arm at the level of neck.

2. Obstruction to blood flow to left Arm.

3. Minor Stroke.

Kindly let me know the details for a better advise .

Will be looking forward from you.

Regards.

I have had this sensation only for a few hours. I don't have any neck pain. I don't have limited use or weakness in my arm. I have been participating in exercises in which I pull an exercise band with my left arm. I wonder if this could have caused nerve compression. If so, what is the recourse/treatment?

Brief Answer:
It could be Nerve compression.

Detailed Answer:
HI

Thanks for the follow up .

Yes it could be Nerve compression but obstruction to blood flow also can't be ruled out .

Regarding treatment it depends on what is causing it . I would recommend you to get Arterial and Venous Doppler of your Left Hand . This will look into the blood flow to your hand . If there is problem in that we need to consider treatment for improving blood flow .

But if the Doppler comes normal we shall consider treatment for nerve compression which involves Physiotherapy and medications.

Kindly revert back with Doppler scan report.

Hope this information was useful to you .

Any clarifications feel free to ask .
