Question: It's well known that medicines like statin can lower bad cholesterol, but do they remove the arterial plaques formed? or is there any other way available to clean clogged arteries(due to LDL,triglycarides, other subtances) completely?

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query with diligence and would like you to know that I am here to help. Yes sir, statins help in reducing the plaque quantity, although gradually and not greatly but they do.

Statins prevent progression of the condition caused and reductiong of bad cholestrol along with lowering of plaque percentage. Other measures used to reduce the plaque are:

+Lifestyle changes
+Regular exercise
+Weight loss
+Specific and healthy diets (mainly advised is the TLC diet)

All the measures adopted cumulatively help in cholesterol and plaque lowering. I hope and wish you loads of luck and a healthier life ahead. Please do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
