Brief Answer:
Need to have a few more information...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns.

You report to have loose stools for over a year; while report to have been constipated.

Now, I need to have a few more information:
- what tests have you done so far? can you send the reports in?
- what meds have you been using so far? can you mention them in details?
- you report to have constipation; are loose stools appearing after starting meds for constipation? or even before?

There are various causes to have loose stool from food intolerance to IBS or bowel infection or even side effects of meds you take. That's why I've asked to have the above information.

Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Time is needed to restore bowel function

Detailed Answer:
Hi back,

Sorry for the late reply due to my XXXXXXX clinical overload.

Ok, from what you are mentioning now, it seems that your bowel function has been deteriorated by the use of laxative when being constipated.

It will take a few more time to get a normal bowel function.

I'd advise to:
- chew up slowly, do not rush
- increase water intake when eating
- have more cheese, yogurt, rice, toast, unriped banana, citrus or foods that won't induce bowel movement, help with loose stool
Avoid foods that would have laxative effect ( e.g. caffeinated beverages, menthol rich foods, etc)
Take probiotics for at least 2 weeks on daily basis.

Hope this helps.
