Brief Answer:
Supportive care and slight work up

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. Chills and hot flashes can be a hormonal issue common in age of menopause and needs supportive care. Estrogen replacement therapy. calcium and vitamin D supplements may help with that.

As far as muscle aches are concerned, i believes it also connected to this early kicking degenerative bone changes common near and after menopause and it needs supportive care, pain killers, calcium supplements , regular mobility and exercises.

I would still advise to get few baseline workup to rule out any other acute infective pathology as possible cause behind it.

I hope it helps. Take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.

so you are recommending that I see my OB/GYN as opposed to my general physician?

I do take 1 tab of Calcium 600 mg plus Vitamin D3 800 IU Daily, should I increase that to 2 or more a day?

Brief Answer:
Supportive care, physician is better

ObGyn is not the concerned person here. Physicians take care of it. You are taking adequate vitamin supplementation for that. Just hang in there, treat your symptoms, continue heating pad, some NSAIDs if it helps, skelaxin to kelp muscle relax and rest. I am sure these measures will be adeqaute enough to relieve the discomfort.

I hope it helps.

Any painkiller like ibuprofen, or any other over the counter pain killer are mostly from NSAID ( non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs) family and commonly help. Skelaxin is a muscle relaxant. You may use any other available to you.

I hope it helps.

is it alright to have a glass of wine or drink with either of those meds?

Brief Answer:
Minimum intake advised

Wine itself is not wise but once in awhile two drinks in a week wont hurt much. Dont do too much. It wont interact with pills but for sure make further complications of its own.

I hope it helps.
