What Causes Chest Pain And Numbness With Tingling Sensation In Forearm?

default
Posted on Tue, 27 Sep 2016
Question: Hi,
I've been experiencing a dull pain in the centre of my chest, numbness or slight tingling in my right forearm and down into my hand, and I recently just experienced a feeling of not being able to catch my breath and a racing heart. I've never experienced anything like this before so I'm wondering if this may be cause for concern. I realize it's best to actually get checked out by my primary care doctor. I'm just curious if it's what I think it may have been.

Brief Answer:
Not a cause for concern!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this experience. I have reviewed the symptoms fully and this is suggestive of a possible anxiety attack. This happens to us every now and then and only becomes a problem if it happens over and over. I will suggest that you simply stay calm and monitor evolution to see is it becomes repetitive or not. I will only ask for further measures if this becomes repetitive.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.
