Posted on Tue, 27 Jun 2017
Question: After a very strenuous evening of roto tilling my garden, my chest hurt. I wasn't sure if it was muscular, from struggeling with the tiller. When I went to bed, and laid on my right side , I felt the pain a lot.

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms seem to be caused by a musculo-skeletal pain.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

I passed carefully through your concern and would like to explain that your pain seems to be related to a musculo-skeletal pain, probably a stretched muscle during the roto tilling.

The fact that the pain is triggered by a certain body position (laying on the right side), is another argument in favor of a musculo-skeletal pain.

From the other hand, I would exclude any cardiac issues, because the pain characteristics you describe are not typical of any cardiac disorders (including coronary artery disease).

So, relax and don't worry about it!

I would recommend taking acetaminophen or ibuprofen for the pain and avoiding straining physical activity in the next days.

You will recover in a short period!

Hope to have been helpful!

Wishing good health,

Dr. Iliri
