What Causes Bruising At Left Groin And Swollen Vein Near Groin?
Question: Significant bruising at left groin and swollen vein running from bruised area at groin towards penis and halfway up top left side of shaft. More noticeble when erect but swollen vein is felt at groin even when not aroused. Could the bruising and inflammation of this vain be caused from a strained muscle in groin during vigorous sex? There is a dull burning sensation in this whole area but no difficulty urinating or ejaculating. It does become uncomfortable to have an erection, though, due to this swollen vein. It has been two days since sexual intercourse that likely triggered this, as bruising was noticed morning after.

You must give it cold compress and apply some cream like silver sulfadiazine.
Take Ibuprofen twice a day.
Things should improve in about 2-3 days.

Unfortunately I don't see how the recommended cream would assist, as I have read it is an antibiotic recommended for burn wounds.
Again I've described a burning sensation, that may come from an achy, strained muscle or an inflamed vein.
To clarify, you believe the vein inflammation could be caused by the bruising itself or a muscular strain? Could you explain how bruising and/or a nearby muscular strain could be causing the inflammation of this vein?

If your skin has no external bruise,or abrasion, the cream is not required.
Your vein is looking and feeling more prominent because
1.Muscle and soft tissue around it may be inflamed because of strain.
2.Veins of penis are very superficial and there is no subcutaneous fat, it is a normal sight.
Because if vein was inflamed , there would have been a rest pain(Pain without moving a muscle).
Burning sensation is because of muscle strain and inflammation.
Cold compress will certainly do good to you.
