I can understand your concern
According to the history in my practice for bronchial congestion and sinus congestion i would use claricide twice for one week,mucolitics and symptomatics if needed.
The stool you explain is very dark .Is it real black in colour?
Because it is not a good sign and for this you should get medical specialised help from gastrenterologist.
Observe carefully the stool.If not it might be dark from the general situation.

I drank some Grape Gatorade soon after my symptoms developed because I was concerned about dehydration. I initially thought this may have accounted for dark stool color. At this point i don't think so. I've never seen my stool this dark in color. Also, stools are very non-substantive.
I forgot to mention that i'm a Type 1 Diabetic for 30 years. A1c of 6.2 earlier this month. generally, my diabetic control is quite good.

So continue to drink a lot of water not juice.
If these stools are from the situation will become normaly in a short period.But if not discuss with your doctor about this concern.
H/she probably will order an abdominal ultrasound to evaluate the intestines better.
In my opinion this probably might be related to the general condition you are passing,but be careful to monitor the situation further.
