What Causes Blotchy Red Patches On Chest Inspite Of Being On Antibiotics For Fever?

Question: I've had a fever averaging 101 - 102 since Monday evening. Horrible body pain and sensitive skin. I am getting more blotchy red patches on my chest, shoulders, legs. I was already taking an antibiotic when this started. Should I be concerned with skin condition, or is it a side effect from the fever?

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam ,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that I agree with your doctor that this may be viral infection , viral fevers are notorious to give bodyaches , high grade fevers and rashes specially erythematous blotchy rashes .

They generally subside as the fever will go down so I dont think you should be conerned about this. Just keep yourself hydrated , it should settle down in a day or two . Just follow your treating doctors advise.

Take care.

Dr. Shruti
