Detailed Answer:

Hello and thank you for sending the question to HCM forum.

Blood in the urine can signal a number of different potential problems. These problems range from Urinary tract infection to inflammation of the bladder to inflammation of the kidney or even kidney stones .

Certain medications and sometimes certain food can also discolor urine giving it a red appearance. This is something you can review with your Physician/Urologist .

Also some types of cancers can sometimes cause blood in the urine as well.

I would recommend that you contact your primary care doctor as soon as possible for a focussed consultation, physical examination and complete your analysis.

Your doctor can determine from that point if you need additional studies including imaging.

Thank you again for sending your question.

Sincerely,

Dr. Galamaga
