What Causes Ankle Pain And Cramping In Calf?

Question: My daughter is 34 and traveled from Australia to Los Angeles on 11/16. She is now experiencing ankle pain and cramping in her calf and is worried about a blood clot. She said she did move about frequently but had her 20 month old on her lap for hours at a time. Could a clot show up over a week later?

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. Yes,blood clot (DVT) can represent like this after a week,having said that is there any skin discoloration, calf is painful,tense and warm to touch?
How much is the pain when she lift her foot towards the shin?

Hello,
I'm XXXXXXX (the daughter). the skin seems fine and it isn't painful to move foot towards shin. I was just concerned as ankle and calf pain seems random and unexplained. I assume there is no need to see a doctor unless condition worsens? I don't see anything on the surface of the skin.
