Question: I'm 40weeks and1day pregnant and I'm having tightness in my abdomen and I don't know if I'm in labor or is this normal

I read your question and i understand your concern. 40 weeks is adequate time for a baby to get mature and this tightness in the abdomen might be early signs of labour or just the abdominal muscle spasm common in such pregnancies. Although persistent lower back pain and abdominal pain with premenstrual cramp feeling is very typical of onset of labour.

I believe your labour should be induced without any further delay and get this baby delivered at an earliest convenience. Talk to your ObGyn and let them help you in this regard .
