Posted on Wed, 28 Dec 2016
Question: I think I have external hemorrhoids, am sensing this from past 5 to 6 days, I thought due to traveling or over body heat might have made uneasy while sitting but I noticed a small pimple/wound /swelling on the edge of anus, it is not creating any issues while passing stools and stools are not hard as well, but from 2 days am feeling itching and light pain and also pain while compressing, do I need to take pilex tablets or ointment or any other medicines, any suggestions please

Brief Answer:
most probably a small infected cyst

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
To recapitulate: Gender/age not mentioned - feels like external hemorrhoid - 5-6 days - noticed a small pimple/wound /swelling on the edge of anus, it is not creating any issues while passing stools and stools are not hard as well, but from 2 days am feeling itching and light pain and also pain while compressing, - wants to know whether to take pilex tablets or ointment or any other medication - wants suggestions:
As per the history you have provided, this looks to be infected cyst or impending small abscess.
The external pile are not hard and not painful unless are prolapse, thrombosed or infected...
Hence I would advise you to consult your Doctor for clinical evaluation, actual examination - per-rectal digital examination and ano-proctoscopy if pain allows it and get treatment accordingly. The problem is already present for the last week.
