What could cause this after affect. It even occurs after masterbation so It's not due to muscle strain during sex. The symptoms are worst the morning after and last 2 or 3 days on occasion.

Brief Answer:
Normal ageing

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from Health Care Magic

I can understand your concern.

Some physiological and psychological changes occur with advancing age in sexual functioning. In intercourse or masturbation arousal occurs which occurs due to increased blood flow to penis. The shift of blood occur from centre to periphery. You are already taking anti-hypertensive Metoprolol and Lisionoril. So one possible cause for these flu like symptoms is shift of blood and occurrence of hypotension during arousal which can be aggravated by anti-hypertensives.

Other possible reason is that with age deficiency of calcium and vitamin B12 occurs. The deficiency get more potentiated during stages of excitation during which energy demands of body increases. The increased energy demand result in increased muscle action and resultant fatigue and aching next morning.

You can ignore these symptoms and there should be no reason to fear. Have plenty of liquids before intercourse this will prevent any postural hypotension. Take Vitamin B12 and calcium supplements to prevent aching of muscles.

Thanks, please ask again if you have more uncleared doubts.
