What Can Be The Effects Of Accidental Ingestion Of Bug Spray?
Question: I had to much to drink Friday night it now Sunday i got a new glass in stead of washing out the one I had. The new cup I had was fine until I got to the bottom of it and it had a odd taste like salt. So I spat it out. I just realised it may have been bug spray as last week I had sprayed the area the cup was and may have not washed the cup my medication can make me forget full. If I have swolled any will I be okay?

In view of your easy forgetfulness and the possibility of the fallen deposits of bug spray there may be a possibility of getting harmful effects due to the spray bug which contains organophosphorous compounds. If consumed or inhaled these compounds may cause vomiting, diarrhea, difficulty in breathing, increased salivation and tears in the eyes, agitation, muscle weakness etc.
So, since the amount you had it being thrown out by spitting, the chances of developing the toxic effects are less.
However, in case if you develop the symptoms described above you must visit ER immediately for proper evaluation and management of the harmful effects due to bug spray.

From next time on wards take proper precautions while using the bug spray, wash the utensils like cups and glasses, etc.
