both combinations Glavumet and Janumet have drugs from same group.... they contains a combination of metformin and gliptins.

Metformin and sitagliptin are oral diabetes medications and both are quiet safe!!

Metformin works by decreasing glucose synthesis the liver and decreasing absorption of glucose by the intestines. Sitagliptin works by regulating the levels of insulin your body produces after eating (increases incretin s)

Common side effects might be ...stuffy or runny nose and sore throat, upper respiratory tract infection, gastric problems, weakness, headache, and low blood sugar when used in combination with certain medications, such as a sulfonylurea or insulin but chances are very very less... please check your HbA1c, microalbiminuria and lipid profile will tell us about the status and control of your diabetes.

very rarely metformin can lead to lactic acidosis especially if the patients are with kidney/heart/liver/ impairment or pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas).
