What Are The Side Effects Of Barrage Laser Treatment?

default
Posted on Tue, 15 Dec 2015
Question: I just went for an eye checkup and to inquire about LASIK. After few tests and retina verification the doctor said I have small retina hole in each eye and has to undergo "barrage laser" treatment. I would like to know if there are any side effects to this and how safe is it to undergo this treatment. What is the typical recovery time for this? Can I undergo LASIK after this.

My current eye power:
RE - CYL -1.25 Axis 160 Vision 6/6
LE - CYL -1.00 Axis 5 Vision 6/6

Please suggest. Thanks in Advance.

Brief Answer:
You can safely undergo lasik after barrage laser.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic

I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.

I reviewed your history.

Small retinal holes in the retina needs to be sealed before Lasik surgery.
This is done by barrage laser. This is simple out patient procedure. This is simple procedure with no side effects. This will make the eye safe also and prevent any problems in future because of retinal hole. Usually after 3-4 weeks Lasik can be done safely.

Hence I advice you to undergo barrage laser followed by Lasik.

Hope this answers your question.

Thanks for your quick response Dr. Dadapeer. This answers my question. Does it need any resting period or recovery time or precautions after barrage laser procedure? How soon can I get back to work? My work majorly involves working on my laptop.
