Brief Answer:
Detailed below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for posting your query.

Firstly, return of ovulation after delivery or abortion takes a few weeks. Thus, you are naturally protected since your abortion happened recently. Even if you happen to ovulate in this cycle, you are amply protected as you have consumed the emergency pill.

It is true that the pill is not advisable so soon. This is because of the high hormone content which can create hormone imbalance. You may experience some withdrawal bleeding now.

Please get further evaluation two weeks after the intercourse. This should also coincide with your follow up. Your doctor can tell you when you can expect a natural period.

Hope your query has been clarified. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

Brief Answer:
Your next natural period may be delayed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing back.

Your next natural period may get delayed by a week or two if ovulation has returned. The pill effect wears off in a couple of months and hormone levels are restored to normal.

Hope this helps. Please get back if you need anything else.

Brief Answer:
This is withdrawal bleeding.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing back.

This is the withdrawal bleeding occurring due to the high hormone content in the emergency pill. This is because of the withdrawal effect of the hormone.

This usually lasts for a couple of days. Sometimes it can mimic a proper period. Yet, this is not a natural period.

Hope this helps. Please get back if you need anything else.

regards,
Shanti.V.
