In my family, my dad has heart disease with blockage. In order to avoid blockage, what are the tests need to be undertaken?

Please give me the guidelines types of tests to be done at age 42, for male. My weight is 51kg and 164 cm in height.

I usually do throid test, diabeties test (fasting/after fasting), cholosteral, lipid test, eye test. Apart this test, do i need to take any other test like magnesium or calcium test ?

Brief Answer:
check my list

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Testing should be individualized, depending on the medical history. Normally a complete blood count, glucose, urea, creatinine, electrolytes, lipid profile and urinalysis should be more than enough for a man at your age.

Regarding your eyes, if you've got vision problems youbshould visit the ophthalmologist. Otherwise it is not necessary.

The thyroid can be evaluated in patients with symptoms or a family history of thyroid disease. Patients who take certain drugs may have to be tested as well but you haven't mentioned anything about drugs.

In overweight or obese patients I usually order liver function tests because many of them have fatty liver.

Regarding magnesium and calcium, there is no immediate need at your age.

Depending on the results, more test might be needed.
