What Are The Chances Of Conceiving When On Duphaston For PCOS?
Question: Hello doctor,
I am 34 yrs. I am diagonised as PCOS. I have been trying for baby for last six months but unable to conceive. My doctor had advised me to take Ovabless tab for one month 0-0-1, Folvio for one month 1-0-0, Glycomet 500mg regularly 1-0-1 and Dhupaston 10mg from Day 21 to Day 30. But by mistake I started taking dhupaston from Day 11. We have been having intercourse from Day 11. Now I have stopped taking dhupaston as per doc advise. My doc told it is doubt that I will be ovoluting this month. My periods are regular. But only last month it was irregular. I had my period on Feb 2nd 2015 last month and again on Mar 19th 2015. Am really feeling low. Kindly advise me.

Thanks for posting your query. Followings are my comments:
1) Duphaston or progesterone supplement is usually taken from D16 to D25 OR D21 to D30 in most cases. It helps to regularize period in absence of fertilization.
2) I suggest to STOP taking pills till D21. However, ovulation is DOUBTFUL in this cycle because you may get withdrawal bleeding within 5-7 days due to sudden stopping of Duphaston pill. Hormonal imbalance is another factor.
3) Use OVULATION PREDICTION KIT (available in all medical store) to predict ovulation day (if occurs) in the middle of cycle. It will help to determine chance of pregnancy also in this cycle.
