default
Posted on Tue, 3 Feb 2015
Question: Hi Doctor,

Last month I had protected sex with a girl.
While doing I suck her nipple, something comes from her nipples, not sure if it was blood or breast milk, I swallowed it.
I sucked her nipples for few seconds only.
Within 1 to 3 weeks, I got soar tongue, mouth ulcer.
After 3 weeks I got runny nose, mild body heat, minor cough, minor sneezing, headache near eyes and ears.
Is that means I got infected with HIV?
Kindly reply.

Brief Answer:
Symptoms are not specific to HIV

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for query.I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.

If you had protected intercourse the chances of HIV transmission is nil.
The chances of transmission from the nipple sucking or oral route is almost nil , unless you have some ulcers or open wound in oral cavity.

So there is no risk of transmission of HIV.
Moreover the lady may be negative too.

The symptoms are nonspecific. It can be due to respiratory contact with any person .It does not suggest HIV.

You can get back for any clarification.

Hi Doctor,

Thank you for your response.
I have acidity and gas trouble.
What if it is blood came from her nipple(if she has cracks on her nipple), as if i have any infections in my stomach? Then also no risk.
I know that I do not have any ulcers in my mouth at the time of exposure, but I am worrying of any infections if I have in my stomach.
Kindly reply if the question is not clear.

Brief Answer:
HIV cannot be transmitted.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for follow up query.

HIV does not survive in stomach due to Gastric acid.In gastritis patients acid secretions is more.

It is unlikely that there is bleeding in nipples as you would have seen it.Even if blood is present there is least chance of transmission as you do not have any open wound

So you need not worry of HIV.
You can allay fears totally.
You can get back for any clarification.
Thank you
