Brief Answer: detailed answer below. Detailed Answer: Hello and welcome, I am Dr Madhuri and will be helping you. If you pulled out before ejaculation and are sure that there was no semen inside, the chances of pregnancy are extremely low. The only possibility is accidental deposition of a drop or two inside before pulling out. The chances also depend upon the phase of the menstrual cycle. Chances of pregnancy are zero during the menstrual phase, extremely low till day 8-10 of periods and just before next period. The fertile days range from day 10-20 in women with regular cycles and peak fertile period is day 12-18. So check which day of the cycle it is if she has regular periods. If she is in safe days, do not do anything as chances are very low. If there is even a slightest of doubt that semen may have been deposited inside, and it is fertile period, it is better to take the I pill. The pill may cause nausea and vomiting and irregular bleeding or may delay the next period or it may come early also. It provides protection in 95% cases if taken within 72 hours and the rate increases if taken within 12 hours. Hope this satisfies your query. Thanks for using HCM. Brief Answer: Unfortunately it is peak fertile period. Detailed Answer: Hi and welcome back, If you had sex today it is day 13. So from day 12 onwards is the unsafe period and this is the peak fertile period. So if there is doubt of sperms inside the vagina, better take the I pill. Precum can cause pregnancy in the rare cases. If a man had sex then semen is there in the urethra. It gets flushed after the man urinates. If however the man has a second act of sex before flushing out the remaining semen from previous act, then only precum will contain sperms from the previous act and cause pregnancy. So please check if this possibility is there. The question comes from India, so I assume you are in India. I have been a part of the medical panels in health check ups. We never test for effects of I pills and so on. The check up is to determine that the person is healthy and does not have an illness like heart disease etc that will make him unfit for work. So this does not have anything to do with the check up. The drug will be out of your system by 30th. Hope that this answered your query. take care. Dr Madhuri
