Question: This is about my self, 38 yrs, male. I felt occasional palpitation(kind of very light throbbing around chest). This happened two-three times. I had digestion problem too.Following this I went to visit Doctor, my BP is measured at 130/80. I went for ECG and Whole abdomen USG. ECG is normal and USG revealed Fatty lever(Grade 1).

Following this I am taking one medicine for Gas(morning once) and one tablet for Lever(twice daily).

Better now. But I am not sure regarding the palpitation. Do I need to go for any further tests/diagnosis?? Kindly advise.

Hello and welcome to "Ask A Doctor"

I have gone through your query and can certainly understand your concern,

Since both your ECG and USG abdomen reports are good to go, at present there is no further need for any investigations. But I would also suggest to get a CBC and thyroid profile done. If you have anemia, it can present in the form of palpitations. Also thyroid dysfunction may present in the form of palpitations.

Continue with the medication you are on now.
Also,
- Avoid tea or coffee to the maximum as caffeine can induce stress and palpitations.
- Get adequate sleep.
- Avoid fast foods, oily foods and spicy foods.
- Avoid stress to the maximum.
- Practice yoga and meditation.
- Reduce weight if overweight.

I hope this helps,

Please feel free to discuss further,

Regards.

Dear Madam,
I am continuing Razocid HD(morning once) and Ursonyl 150 (twice daily after food) since last 15 days. Palpitation is absent. I am trying to avoid fast and oily foods, still i am getting gas sometimes. It causes Chest pain and irregular bowel.
I have a query, how frequently can I take gas medicine ( Razocid HD in this case). As I'm taking one in morning, if required can I take another in the evening? I mean twice daily id required?

Please suggest any other information.

Hello again,
Thanks for writing back,

Sorry for the long delay in replying back as I was out of station,

It is good to hear that your symptoms are improving. Razocid HD can only be taken once a day, as that is the maximum dosage allowed for adults. I would suggest you to take T. RAZOCID DSR- which contains both Rabeprazole and domperidone and is also a sustained release tablet, which has a longer action than RAZOCID HD.

You can also take Syp. GELUSIL as an when needed, if you get an dyspeptic symptoms like heartburn or bloating.

I hope this helps,

Please feel free to discuss further,

Regards
