Brief Answer:
Information about positional vertigo:

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

Vertigo (room spinning) can be caused by a number of different things, but the most common type is Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV). This type can come on very suddenly, and is usually worse when a person turns their head to one side.

Here is a video of a method you can use at home to try to resolve this problem. It can take multiple tries, and I'd recommend separating the trials by about 10 - 15 minutes.

If this does not help, and the vertigo is getting worse, then do go in to be seen as it can be from medications or from neurological causes that are more concerning.

I hope this information helps and that you are soon feeling better. Please let me know if I can provide further information or clarification.
