I have examined your pictures too and feel that there is some ongoing cause for urticaria that has been bothering you for such a long time.

The pattern that you have noticed of its occurrence in the late evenings suggests that this might be due to parasitic infestation of the skin which is known to cause evening or night itching. This infections is caused by mite that thrives on the skin and tends to spread to different body areas as well as to family members in regular contact with the patient.

I have had scores of patients who were not responding to plain anti histamines like Atarax or Alerid but were promptly controlled when anti-scabetic treatment with Gamma Benzene Hexachloride was initiated. The medicine comes in lotion form and needs to be applied weekly for at least a month.The method of application involves three applications every week preceded by a scrub bath before the first and all applications spaced at 12 hourly gaps to all areas below neck.

Additional use of anti allergics in the form of Allegra or Levocetirizine will give comfort from itching.Locally applied Crotamiton preparations control itching fast and are helpful in cases like yours

To most of my patients, I advise Scarab or any substitute of that. It should contain Gamma Benzene Hexachloride. A number of manufacturers make it available and what matters for us is the composition. Any one of the available product substitutes will serve the purpose.

According to literature, Allegra 180 is useful for skin conditions and 120 is useful mainly for allergic nasal conditions.

It is good that the problem has not been passed on to another family member but still precaution is better than having to undergo treatment at a later date.

Scarab lotion contains the same composition that is needed
Allegra needs to be taken for control of itching and the usual dose that I give to my patients is 180 mg a day.

Acidity and belching do not appear to be linked to the skin problem.
