Question: I took a Detro pill for the first time as prescribed by my doctor. I'm having difficulty urinating. I'm only drizzling a little bit of urine but I feel like I have to go all the time. It's the middle of the night and I cannot sleep . How can I neutralize it's effects.? I don't want to be catheterized. During ablation surgery several years ago a doctor failed to XXXXXXX me and I had to wear a bag for nine days after because my bladder filled immensely. I couldn't urinate when I got home because my bladder, according to my urologist, lost its muscle tone. I got it back in shape but I was urinating 3 to 5 times a night. My family doctor today told me to try some DetroL. Now I'm just dribbling and feel like I have to urinate but not much is coming out. It's been that way for the last three hours. I don't want to go to the emergency room.

There is no drug to neutralize the effects of Detrol. If you are in severe pains, am afraid you might need to be evaluated at the emergency room. If there are no severe pains, stop the drug and allow the effects to expire so that you can return to your usual urinary habit and discuss this at a later date with your doctor.
