Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

A strong odor to the urine is not always a cause for concern but can be in certain situations. If the urine is very sweet smelling, it can be a sign of diabetes. If it smells strongly of ammonia it can mean that you aren't drinking enough water. Certain foods, drinks, and medications can cause a strong smell (which are not a cause for concern). And a urinary tract infection can cause a bad smell. But if you aren't having symptoms of a UTI, such as pain with urination, then even if you have a low grade UTI, it doesn't need to be treated.

A fishy type smell can come from the vagina due to an imbalance in the natural bacteria that live there, but this doesn't make the urine smell per se.

Consider treating yourself for a possible UTI with cranberry, such as cranberry powder supplements (sold at health food stores and many drug stores) and more water if you are able to drink more without increasing the incontinence problem.

I hope this information helps. Please let me know if I can provide further information or clarification.
