Suggest Treatment For Tumor At Outer Edge Of Left Eye

default
Posted on Sat, 11 Jul 2015
Question: I just saw my Retina surgeon for the last visit; that was the right eye, and is healed since surgery last August.

Now there is a tumor at the outer edge of the left eye, growing toward the cornea, causing a scratchy feeling. Dr. said it was a tri----- tumor, and I am seeing Opthamologist again near end of this month.

Could you please fill in the last few letters of the tumor type, and is this possibly related to my thyroid cancer?

Brief Answer:
It can be pterygium.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

I am Dr. Dadapeer K, an ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.

I reviewed your history.
Based on your history this appears like pterygium. This is a common degenerative condition of the conjunctiva and presents as a growth towards cornea.
This is not related to thyroid cancer.

If possible please do send me a photo of the eye so that I can confirm the diagnosis and advice you accordingly.
Hope this information is helpful to you. Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
With regards
