Suggest Treatment For Throat Infection And High Fever
Question: My son is of 5 years and suffering from throat infection and high fever I.e 100 from last 48 hours.initially only temprecture syrups given now from yesterday night syr augmentin antibiotics has been started..but still after every 4.30 hours temprecture comes.....please guide what to do

I understand your concerns but don't worry. The most likely reason for high grade fever spikes with throat infection in this age group is streptococcal tonsillopharyngitis. So, you may continue with Augmentin for it. Also, start an antihistamine such as Syp. Maxtra or T minic for throat pain. Use Acetaminophen ( Crocin DS or Paracetamol) for fever instead of Ibugesic. Give warm oral fluids such as warm soups, milk etc.
But in case he doesn't show any improvement even after 48 hours of starting the antibiotics, then go for a throat swab culture and sensitivity test and complete blood count. Thereafter start Azithromycin at 12.5 mg/kg/dose once daily for next 5 days. You may upload the reports for my reference.
