Question: I had a vasectomy a week ago today. It has gone very well no pain a little swelling and bruising nothing crazy. I decided to masterbate this morning (my doctor told me to wait a week) no pain at all when I did. Well it's in the evening same day and my vas deference on my right side is swellen and it's a little tender. It was not swellen before I masterbated but is now and like I said a litttle tender. Is this normal after the first time you masterbate after a vasectomy? It's doesn't hurt that bad. Thanks for your help!

Thanks for query .
You have developed swelling of the Vas due to masturbation one week after surgery of vasectomy .

This is mostly due to accumulation of semen at the site of ligation ( Seminoma)
which is normal .It is likely to get absorbed within due course of time .

You need to take broad spectrum antibiotic like Cefixime along with anti inflammatory drug like Diclofenac twice daily.

Ensure to avoid sexual encounters for 2-3 weeks .
