Question: I have central nervous system sarcoidsosis. I have swollen nodes which the doctor says is caused by the disease. I think I should have a biopsy just to be sure. What do you think?

Brief Answer: I agree with you. Detailed Answer: Hi, Thank you for posting your query. I have noted your details, and agree with your view. It is possible that the nodes could be a part of sarcoidosis, however, doing a biopsy would confirm it. A confirmed diagnosis would help plan the treatment with confidence, especially, as we need to use steroids for a long time. Mainly, we need to exclude infection as a cause of swollen nodes. I hope my reply has helped you. I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.
