Brief Answer:
Students elbow needs rest ice elevation

Detailed Answer:
Hi there.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Thanks for the query.

You seem to be suffering from Students elbow which is inflammation if the oleceanon bursa at the back of the elbow, due to constant pressure over a hard surface.

Apply ice to the painful region. Take pain miley like Tablet Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day for 5 days. Avoid resting the elbow on the desk while writing. In 15 days of you so not get relief, you can get a steroid injection at the back of the elbow and also try localised ultrasonic therapy for relief.

Most important is avoid resting the elbow against hard surface for atleast 15 days. Also keep the arm over a pillow while sleeping so that it stays elevated.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Regards,

Dr. Aashish Raghu

I am 40. I fell over about 2 weeks ago and landed on my side. prior to this about one year ago i had severe back pain it moved around my back to my buttocks and sometimes down my leg. My doctor prescribed me nuxofen and cocodomol. Since I fell my back has been aching again and it is very stiff in the mornings, i have to brace myself to bend down, bending my legs and sometimes find it hard to get back up again. It hurts when i cough or sneeze.

i have two prolasped dics L5 plus L4 which ive had a mri scan on but the left handside back muscle keeps going into spasm and feels like ripping or tearing which results the left handside hip sticking right out. it takes two to three weeks to get back to normal this has been happening on a regular basis for the last couple of years is there anyway to combat this problem as it is causing a major problem to work.

Hi I recently had caused an injury in my lower back while lifting an object at work. The problem is the pain from this injury has gotten very bad especially around my tail bone in my pelvic area, as well as my buttock with the pain radiating down my right and left leg, which indicated to my doctor that I probably have sciatica . There is also a certain amount of numbness in both legs and it feels as though the numbness has spread to my groin and pelvic area these areas are numb feeling, but also very, very, painful. I cannot believe my pain level it feels like a constant 7 even with pain medication , and this pain radiates throughout my lower back and literally makes me feel physically ill from the pain. My doctor also tested my right leg for strength and noticed it was pretty weak in fact I am limping and even trying to walk with an even gait is excruciating and painful. My doctor suggests Radiculopathy , and I did have an MRI done but have to wait 2 more weeks to see my doctor. This is very frustrating, and I do not know how much more pain I can stand. Do you maybe know what I may be dealing with?
