Question: Last Friday I was fine, but was carrying my grandson around ,off & on , for a few days. This is new since I haven' t seen him for a while.Anyway I woke up with pain on my right scapular area. That day I was leaving ,to go back home. On the plane I notified my ankles were slightly swollen. The swelling resolved but the pain in the right scapular area became more severe. If I roll over on that side, during my sleep , the pain is severe, almost takes my breathe away. The pain is worse when I lift my right arm above my head.It is also very painful to pull mypants up.

Brief Answer:
Rotatory cuff tendinitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

You seem to have injured muscles around the shoulder joint. Generally they are in rest and when they contract for so long time (while you hold your grandson) they tend to irritate at the point where they insert into the bones.
Generally rest relieves the pain. I prefer to give Tab ALEVE /NAPROSYN 2 tablets immediately after breakfast and 2 tabs after dinner each day for 5 days. If you have previous gastric ulcer issues please do not take this.
If it does not get any better or worsens after 5 days I suggest to see a Orthopedist for physiotherapy sessions. They can do ultrasonic therapy to ease the pain along with some exercise sessions.
