Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

Based on the symptoms of swelling and burning, you either had a reaction with an ingredient in monistat or the swelling and burning is due to irritation from the infection itself.

Since there is no way to be certain at this point and to avoid a worse reaction, it would be best to use another treatment in addition to the use of medications such as naproxen, ibuprofen, cataflam
These meds help to reduce inflammation in the body and should help reduce the burning and swelling.

A sitz bath in warm not hot water with sodium bicarbonate , may also help to decrease some of your discomfort. This should be done 2 to 3 times daily for 15 to 20 mins.

Some over the counter medications are: (1) clotrimazole, this comes in different strengths
(2)tioconazole

If you continue to have problem then you may need a prescription anti fungal such as butoconzole, terconazole or fluconazole (this last one is an oral tablet)

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questiosn
