Suggest Treatment For Stye And Slight Puffiness Under Right Eye

default
Posted on Thu, 9 Jul 2015
Question: I all of a sudden have developed a slight puffiness under my right eye. I have been trying to get rid of a "sty" on my right eye lid and am taking an antibiotic eye ointment for 2 months now. The "sty" has gone down but not completely gone yet. But I'm trying to figure out what the puffy circle-like right under my eye is coming from.

Brief Answer:
It can be because of chalazion.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care Magic.

I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I will be answering your question.
I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that you are on treatment with antibiotic eye ointment probably Erythromycin eye ointment for treatment of stye.
The swelling which is remaining probably indicates formation of chalazion because of long standing infection.

You need to continue the use of antibiotic eye ointment and do warm compression and this will help in its resolution. If it does not respond then it may sometimes require incision and curettage.

If possible do send me the photo of the affected eye so that I can confirm the diagnosis and advice you accordingly.

Hope this information is helpful to you.

Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
With regards
