Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

I read your query and can understand the distress you seem to be due to your current set of symptoms.

From what you have mentioned, it seems that you worry a lot and remain anxious due to multiple situations. Due to these worries, your performance is getting affected and you are facing trouble even in your personal life. It is highly likely that you are suffering from an anxiety disorder, more likely a generalized anxiety disorder.

I think you should initiate treatment for your problems. Most of the problems that you mentioned can be taken care of with treatment. You should seek a psychiatric consultation for complete evaluation. Treatment with medications like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (sertraline or escitalopram) would really help.

You can also consider psychotherapy in form of cognitive behavior therapy. It consists of sessions which will focus on relaxation in addition to trying to understand and change the negative thoughts that causes distress. it will certain amount of commitment and hard work, but is an effective therapy. Relaxation exercises will help relax and focus better.

You should start exercising daily which will help you keeping relaxed. You must also try to share your innermost feelings and emotions with someone with whom you are very comfortable doing it. Alternatively, you can start writing diary daily. It will help you feel relaxed.

I do hope that I was able to answer your query. Please feel free to ask any more queries that you might have.

Best wishes,

Brief Answer:
Sertraline & Escitalopram are name of medicines

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Thanks for following up.

The medications I have mentioned are anti-depressants used for treatment of depression as well as anxiety disorders. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors is the name of the class of drug under which the medicines like sertraline and escitalopram come. Sertraline and escitalopram are commonly used medicines for your situation and are safe as well as effective. The dose range of escitalopram is 10-20 mg/day and of sertraline is 50-200 mg/day. These are prescription medicines and should be taken under supervision of a psychiatrist.

I hope I was able to clear your doubt. Let me know if I can help you with any more queries.

Best wishes,

Dr. Sunil Gupta

Dear XXXXXXX

Thanks for following again. Omega 3 fatty acid capsules are just dietary supplements and have no proven role in depression and anxiety. It has more role as cardio-protective agent. I wouldn't recommend it to you. Still if you want to take it, you can take capsules containing 1.5 grams of DHA (Docosahexaenoic acid) and 0.2 grams of EPA (Eicosapentaenoic acid) per day.

Considering your condition, SSRIs (Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) are the best bet. You can start with escitalopram 10 mg/day. Further dose can be increased after assessing the response to it.

Regarding interest in sex, I think that is supposed to be normal. Its rather a good thing that you have a good sexual desire. You don't need to avoid it, rather divert your attention on your wife. She will feel loved and that will help improve your relationship with her.

Hope that was helpful. Please don't hesitate to ask any more questions that you might have. I will be glad to offer my help. In case you don't have any, please close the discussion and rate the answer.

Best wishes,

Dr. Sunil Gupta
