default
Posted on Fri, 12 Feb 2016
Question: I need advice about how to help my hypoglocema which I believe is stress related. Im getting worried it is getting worse (as in more often) and my ability to concentrate - seemingly spaced out is really worrying me. After I have eaten I come good again but it is getting dangerous for driving. I just don't know what I should be eating to get through the day so it is safe to drive home?

Brief Answer:
Mention your symptoms, it need to be evaluated

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome.
I have gone through your query.
Presently what symptoms you are having. ?

Presently I would suggest you to get fasting and postprandial blood sugar, blood pressure should be checked and Hb estimation.

Apart from this, even if your symptoms are suggestive of Hypoglycemia but without a documented Blood sugar testing at the time of these symptoms we can't just assume it to be Hypoglycemia.
This is because there are other conditions which can cause these type of symptoms . I advise you to buy a Glucometer , do the sugar testing by yourself at the time of your symptoms . Any value less than 60 proves that your symptoms is due to Low blood sugar but if it's not then we need to search for other causes of your symptoms .
I would presently also advice you to eat at regular intervals and keep chocolate with you and if the symptom if due to hypoglycemia can be reduced by eating it.
Kindly do not drive while you have symptoms, wait for while, eat something (if due to hypoglycemia, it will reduce), then when symptom reduces, you can drive.

This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.

I hope this suggestion might be of some help to you.
Take care.
