Suggest Treatment For Stage-4 Kidney Cancer

default
Posted on Fri, 5 Jun 2015
Question: My mother has late stage kidney failure (PD patient) and stage 4 kidney cancer that went to lungs. When she eats after her first 2 bites she feels like throwing up. If she waits a few minutes she can eat a little. She is not doing chemo. There is no food that we can identify as the cause. She rarely has the issue first thing in the a.m. with cereal and a bit of milk. Every other meal of the day creates an issue.

Brief Answer:
Chronic kidney disease

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

It is usual for patients with chronic kidney disease to have loss of appetite, especially patients on peritoneal dialysis. Here is what you should do

1. Tab omeprazole with domperidone twice daily before food to increase appetite
2. to stay in upright position during dwell time and not sleep
3. do not sleep immediately post meals
4. avoid caffeine , milk and milk products
5. Avoid spicy food items
6. I have seen my patients improve significantly with probiotics like Nitrophage forte or Lobun. It has to be taken three times a day

If you have any further doubts please clarify with me, I'll be happy to get back
