Brief Answer:
Most likely diagnosis is COMPLEX REGIONAL PAIN SYNDROME

Detailed Answer:
Good evening and thank you for your question.

What you most likely suffer from is a rather poorly understood and often missed diagnosis by even doctors. We know that it occurs as a result of severe injuries which are USUALLLY (but not always) orthopedic in nature. For example, fractures of long bones, crush injuries, and TENDON TEARS, RUPTURES, SPRAINS, STRAINS, etc. to joints, other skeletal joints can all cause something called COMPLEX REGION PAIN SYNDROME. Most of the time CRPS is as the result of a TRAUMATIC INJURY.

As far as treatments are concerned unfortunately we are sorely lacking in tremendously effective treatments, however, some things that could be tried are any medication in the class of drugs known as the TRICYCLIC ANDEPRESSANTS. And that is not because I am assuming or thinking you are DEPRESSED because of this situation and that's why you're in pain...NO....it's because this class of drugs has been shown to be very useful as an ANALGESIC for these types of autonomic dysfunction pain. Other drugs to consider would be in the class known as the ANTIEPILEPTIC CLASS. Still others that can have a positive effective may be ANTISPASMODICS especially when combined with MUSCLE RELAXANTS.

Other things that have been shown to be effective for CRPS are things such as ACUPUNCTURE, THERMAL THERAPY; and CALCIUM CHANNEL BLOCKERS. I have also had some ANECDOTAL success with BOTOX injections directly into the tendons and ligaments attached to the ankle itself.

If I've adequately answered your questions could you do me a huge favor by CLOSING THE QUERY and being sure to include some fine words of feedback along with a 5 STAR rating if you feel my answers/suggestions have helped?
