Suggest Treatment For Sores In Vagina And Increased Vaginal Discharge

default
Posted on Fri, 4 Sep 2015
Question: Hello, Monday i noticed some discomfort after going on a 4 mile walk with my husband(of 3 years) and son(7 months old). Today I noticed three sores in my vagina close to the clitoris, they look very similar to canker sores. I have recently become more active with exercising daily. I've been active before but have never gotten sores before and I have noticed increased vaginal discharge, I am wondering if this could possibly a yeast infection and can it be treated over the counter. I've never had a yeast infection before so i am not familiar with the symptoms. We have also had more oral intercourse lately as well as genital intercourse, I do have an IUD in place.

Brief Answer:
Possible yeast infection.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to HCM.

I can understand your concerns.

In most cases of yeast infection, women mainly experience whitish curdy discharge and itching.

OTC treatment is not possible for this. Kindly consult your doctor for this.

I have some suggestion for you-
1. you should maintain hyigene. wash vagina with V-wash solution daily.
2 .drink plenty of water.
3. you should take tablet fluconazole 150mg orally once weekly for three weeks and vaginal pessary clotrimazole for 6nights (prescription drugs).consult your gynecologist.

Hope this helps.

Feel free to ask further.
Thanks.

What could possibly cause canker like sores on vulva area? I have recently moved and do not currently have a gynecologist where I am yet.

Brief Answer:
boils, syphilis,herpes; depends on examination.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again.

Sorry for the late response.

It can be a boil, syphilis chancre or herpes sores.

I would suggest you to get VDRL test for syphilis as well as herpes sores ruled out.

Most individuals have no or only minimal signs or symptoms from HSV-1 or HSV-2 infection. When signs do occur, they typically appear as one or more blisters on or around the genitals.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations.

For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor.

I sincerely hope that helps. Take care
