Question: I am 34 and went to a doctor experiencing exhaustion weakness aching feeling joint pain and stiffness, and I recall at the time unable to stand or sit up for any amount of time without feeling sick and sort of light headed exhaustion witch would go away if I would lay down. some basic tests were ran and white blood cells were normal and was told I am in perfect health. well I have been experiencing declining health over the last few years and two years ago was diagnost with schitzoprenia were symtoms were high energy levels increased physical activity and weight loss along with wildly racing thoughts. acompaning those symtoms i had three fainting spells with different causes, eating a red pepper, not eating food but drinking energy drinks, and anxiety. was treated with a few different drugs and I am currently on 3mlg of resperdone a day. over the last year and a half or two years my health has decline slowly to now were i have no physical activity walks or other because physicaly i get exhausted and achey unless I'm laying down. after visiting the doctor she sent me to a dermatologist who removed a benign mole that had caused me trouble with infection before so i wanted it off, directly after within a day or twelve hours i wasn't feeling as fatigued my joint pain went away as well as my light headedness while siting up. risperdone dose has remained the same. that was a month ago i realy kind of felt beter all over for like a week. now I'm just experiencing aching muscles, sort of a sick feeling muscle stiffness fatigue. oh and over last few month have stared becoming sensitive to some foods like onions fish cookies beef sausage. where i get indigestion burbing heartburn and with beef sausage through up. i have had the flew twice in the last two months. and i think that is about all. right now my pain is tolerable if it worsens i will go back to the doctor so if there are any test that i should ask about i would like to know thank you. and i forgot during my weight loss and schitzoprenia diagnosis i was having euphoria as well and weighed 160 i have since gained weight and now settled around 250 260 as a the highest.

Brief Answer:
Risperidone side effects:

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Sorry to learn about your bothersome symptoms.
Most of the symptoms you reported are side effects of risperidone, inculding:
-weight gain;
-headache, dizziness;
-drowsiness, tired feeling;
-dry mouth, increased appetite;
-feeling restless or anxious;
-nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, constipation.

Weight gain may be the cause of heartburn.
What you can discuss with your doctor is the possibility of lowering the dose of risperidone in order to lower the side effects. Of course, if he/she finds it possible.

Wish you good health.
Regards,
Dr.Mirjeta
