Posted on Wed, 29 Apr 2015
Question: Have sharp pains in lower abdomen, anus region and ovaries. Thought it was urine infection as my vagina wall were burning a bit but it doesn't burn when wee. Could it be constipation? I have had menstrual cycle last week, oddly when I stopped I was still bleeding slightly.

Brief Answer:
Can be due to constipation if you have it.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I can understand your concerns.

The reason for your pain can be either urine infection or constipation or uterus related.

Do you have constipation now?

Urine infection not always burn so please get a urine culture.

Are you sexually active?
Also if you are slightly still bleeding after menses then you need to get a sonogram to find the cause.

If it was constipation how long would sharp pains stay for. Been sitting in bed after going to the toliet unable to move much as the pains flare up if I move much.

My stomach has bloated too and hurts to press on it.

I didn't want to book appointment if it's just constipation. I also would now be able to get seem till tomorrow at GP due to late call up.

Anything I can do now?

the bleeding is only minimal now.

Brief Answer:
Use laxatives

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX,

The pain will go after your constipation goes.

To relieve constipation please use laxatives.

If stools have hardened please do digital evacuation yourself.

You can wait till tomorrow to see your doctor.

You can also take a pain killer but pain to reduce symptoms but pain will not go permanently till constipation is relieved.
