Suggest Treatment For Sharp Pain In The Neck

default
Posted on Tue, 6 Dec 2016
Question: I had an episode today while sitting in my recliner. I had a very sharp pain in my neck (L side) that traveled up to my ear and down my arm some. Immediately after that my left side started hurting at my waist. This episode lasted about 10 minutes and I then took a nap. After waking up my neck is just tender to the touch but my side is still hurting significantly. What do you think it could be? Does this sound like anything that needs attention before tomorrow?

Brief Answer:
As Muscular sprain

Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel Orthopedic Surgeon.
After having gone through the details , I feel that this pain you are having is due to a bad posture or sudden strain while lying , leading to sudden muscular spasm in left side of your body , recovering partially after bed rest.
I suggest you continue with tramadol, and take muscle relaxants also for 4-5 days. You can apply local heat and analgesic cream also.
If you feel that relief is not adequate in 4-5 days , then consult your orthopedic surgeon.
I hope to have answered your question. Please feel free to ask any further questions.
