Suggest Treatment For Sharp Pain In Ankle After An Injury
Question: I was hit in the shin by a softball last week. My ankle is a dark purple/black. I am able to walk however it is not without pain. The entire front of my leg from the impact site down is super sensitive to touch and a sharp pain shoots down the inside if I cross my legs. Do I need to see a doctor?

The dark purple color of the ankle is due to internal bleeding that collected in the dependent part of the leg. The pain on walking and sensitivity can be due to a mild fracture in the area. You need to see a doctor for an X-ray of the affected leg. You can keep the leg elevated on two pillows while resting to reduce the pain and swelling. Avoid weight bearing on the leg till then.
